Fishing Virginia’s
Eastern Shore

Ken Schultz

Accomac Library
23610 Front Street
Accomac, VA  23301

Schultz will speak about the many opportunities for recreational fishing on the Shore.  He will discuss the primary species caught locally, the most opportune times for catching them, access points to the water, as well as answer questions about gear and fishing from different types of water craft or piers.

Schultz retired to the Shore after a career as a journalist, author, staff writer for Field and Stream magazine, and broadcaster for ESPN.  He is an avid photographer and kayaker, and represents the Eastern Shore on the Virginia Marine Resources Commission’s Recreational Fisheries Development Fund Advisory Board.

(8/27/2015)
Calendar Image

ADMISSION:

Free

WHEN: Thursday, August 27, 2015, at 5:30 in the afternoon

WHERE: The lawn of St. George's Episcopal Church, on Rt. 178, in Pungoteague

WHY: To celebrate the 350th anniversary of the original performance of "Ye Bare & Ye Cubbe," acknowledged to be the first theatre performance in English in the New World, which took place on August 27, 1665 at Fowkes Tavern in Pungoteague, on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

HOW DO WE KNOW: Because the actors were arrested and made it into the Accomack County Court records!

Join us as we return to (almost) the 'scene of the crime' to celebrate this important "first" in the history of the arts in America- one of many Virginia can point to over the last 350 years! You'll laugh, maybe learn a little history, share a cup of cider and a biscuit, and toast to Virginia's rich contributions to the arts, and to the artists who enhance our lives every day!

This is a Family Friendly event
